World Vegetarian Day is celebrated annually all around the globe on October 1 and Croatia and it’s capital Zagreb are not an exception!
The Animal Friends Croatia Association, on the occasion of World Vegetarian Day, has organized a competition for the preparation of vegan salty and sweet dishes. Everyone can participate and all you need to do is to go to the Animal Friends website and send the recipe and a photo of the meal you made until 2 October. Animal Friends will be presenting some of the delicious dishes today, October 1st at 11 am at Zagreb’s Petar Preradović Square (Flower Square).
On October 2, World Farm Animals Day is also celebrated, so the winners of today’s competition will win a day-long trip where they will hang out with rescued animals at the ‘Plavi Križ’ shelter. World Vegetarian Day initiates the month of October as Vegetarian Awareness Month, which ends with November 1, World Vegan Day.
