Vege Fair in the Center of Zagreb

The 8th edition of Zagreb Vege Fair, as the announcement of this year’s ZeGeVege festival, will take place this Tuesday, May 28th, 2019 at the Ban Jelačić Square from 8 am till 8 pm.

Vege Fair is an ecological and educational event that offers a variety of vegan products such as sausages, herbs,  hemp roasts, burgers, milk etc. The goal of the event is to introduce the people with the offer and benefits of healthy, no-meat meals and vegan products from small local manufacturers and suppliers.

“This year, we especially want to highlight the importance of our daily dietary choices which, apart from our health and the fate of animals, directly affect the environment and sustainability of the planet we live on, “said Emanuela Poturica, coordinator of Vege Fair, organized by the Animal Friends Association.

The 51% of global greenhouse gas emissions are caused by livestock farming and its by-products, these processes cause deforestation, pollute soil, water and air. Vegan nutrition, besides reducing our carbon footprint by 50%, also saves billions of animals each year, suffering from the human habits of eating meat, milk and dairy products and eggs.

On the occasion of Vege Fair, Animal Friends Croatia also invite you to join the ‘Vege Challenge’. If you join the challenge you can receive an e-mail a day for a month with interesting vegan recipes for and information that can help you increase the number of vegan meals or completely overcome this diet.
