Next weekend, Samobor will host the Bonsai Festival which will be held from 25th to 30th October. In those five days, visitors will be able to see the exhibition of bonsai trees, which will be held on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th, and the exhibition of photographs made by Goran Stefanek titled “Japan in pictures.” But the Bonsai Festival will bring more of the Japanese spirit to this idyllic town – citizens will get free lessons of Japanese calligraphy and origami, and, in cooperation with the Croatian MAKOTO Japanese society, free Japanese language lessons.
On Sunday, visitors will be able to join cooking workshop led by Maki Nagayoshi, who will briefly explain the difference between traditional and modern Japanese cuisine, after which every visitor will learn how to make simple vegetable sushi.
