Saturday at Lisinski: Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra

The concert of one of the world’s most famous, most important and most excellent symphony orchestras, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, under the prominent and versatile conductor Philippe Herreweghe, is going to be held on November 24th at 7:30 pm at Vtaroslav Lisinski Main Concert Hall. This concert is considered one of the highlights of the Saturday at Lisinski concert season.

With its first concert within this cycle almost ten years ago, this 130-year old orchestra from Amsterdam and its performance in front of an audience of around 2500 turned the Small Hall of Dom Sportova Hall into “the world’s most beautiful concert hall”. Their second appearance within the cycle will take place as part of their RCO meets Europe Tour (2016 – 2018), with which they want to spread to all EU member countries the fundamental idea and ideals that can hold Europe together – as a unique mosaic of cultures, both ancient and modern.

The Zagreb Music Academy Symphony Orchestra will also participate in the performance of Overture to Egmont, op.84. This will implement the idea of the Concertgebouw Orchestra’s Side by Side project – to perform at least one piece with a youth orchestra from the member country that they are visiting.

Tickets are still available for the price from 170 to 250 HRK.
