Museum Night 2019: Innovations and Digital Future

The 14th Night of the Museums, a cultural event held across Croatia, will be held again this year on the night of  February 1st. The Night of the Museums is a popular event in which museums and galleries open their doors to the public free of charge and often, organize some special events. Over 200 museums, galleries and other cultural institutions in 100 Croatian cities and towns will take part in this year’s event.

The main theme of this year’s event is digital technology. Croatian museums and galleries use modern technology every day, which gives them an innovative and creative approach to new opportunities and provides better accessibility to museums for new segments of the public through various digital platforms such as mobile applications, tools, VR headsets and many more.

Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb organizes guided tour through the permanent setup on the 2nd floor starting at 6:15 pm,  interactive exhibition ‘STEM Revolution’, creative workshop ‘Innovations for the Museum’, film screening and many other events created especially for the Museum Night.

Klovićevi Dvori gallery offers a free entrance from 6 pm till 1 am to the ‘Nikola Reiser Retrospective’ and ‘August Šenoa: The Goldsmith’s Treasure’ exhibitions, while at the Museum of Arts and Crafts you can take a look at even 4 exhibitions and buy some of the museum publications and souvenirs with discount up to 70%.

We mentioned only some of the museums and galleries you could visit on this special night, but almost every museum and gallery in Zagreb organizes some kind of special event for the Museum Night 2019. It is a good idea to visit more than one and shuttle buses that run between the main locations will make that easier.
