Yammat FM brings Marc Almond to Croatia!

British pop star Marc Almond, most famous for his number one hit “Tainted Love” with Soft Cell, will perform tomorrow in Lauba, Prilaz Baruna Filipovica 23a, at 8PM, as a special guest at a big party organized by Radio Yammat FM, where he will present his latest album – “The Velvet Trail”.

A party like this could have been expected only from the Yammat FM team. Yammat FM is a live radio station that broadcasts from Lauba gallery and is led by producer Alen Balen, and radio hosts Sinisa Svec and Milan Peh, known for their fights against oppression of freedom of speech during the post-socialist 1990’s . The concert will be broadcast on Yammat FM at 102.5 MHz and streamed online. There are no general ticket sales, only invitations or tickets won on Yammat FM, www.yammat.fm or their facebook page.

Marc Almond, an internationally renowned artist and pop icon has been part of the world of music for more than three decades during which he influenced many generations of musicians. Throughout his career he has released some thirty albums, rose to fame as a member of the new wave duo Soft Cell and has had a diverse solo career selling over 30 million records worldwide, a number of Top 40 hits, including “Tainted Love” (which broke all music records as the single that remained on Billboard’s Top 100 Chart for the longest time ever) “Bedsitter”,“Say Hello, Wave Goodbye” and the club hit “Memorabilia”, and four Top 20 albums in the UK between 1981-84. Since then, Marc Almond had his ups and downs, but he managed to stay a recognizable name, especially among fans who grew up with his music – his most devoted fans. Except in music, he was and is involved in a lot of different cultural projects – solo projects (10 solo albums), cooperating with musicians of various genres, including Nick Cave, Siouxie, Jools Holland, Bronski Beat, John Calle, Baby Dee, Little Annie, etc., theatre plays, music project „Russian Gypsy Romance and Folk songs“ (after which the Russian press named him Adopted Son of Russia), he wrote two autobiographies and three books with songs…
