Ksenija Turčić: Iconophilia Glow

Exhibition Iconophilia Glow by Ksenija Turčić is being held at big hall of Pogon Jedinstvo (Trnjanski nasip bb) from 15th to 20th of January and it’s open for visitors each day from 4 pm till 8 pm.

Academic painter Ksenija Turčić was awarded at the 25th Slavonia Biennial in 2016 for her work Iconophilia with an independent exhibition so this year her exhibition takes place in Zagreb under the name Iconophilia Glow. The exhibition consists of spatial installation and video.

The curator of the exhibition Valentina Radoš comments the exhibition: “Iconophilia glow continues the process of erasing human individuality and recognizable identification lines are differentiated just as in the Rorschach stain test. It raises the question what does it mean to leave a trace of our own existence in the 21st century?”

Ksenija Turčić graduated painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1987 in the class of professor Ferdinand Kulmer, where, since 2010, she has been employed as an associate professor at the Department of Drawing and Painting. She has exhibited at numerous solo and group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad and received numerous awards for her artistic work.
