Inspired by the events that laid the foundation of Croatian independence, the movie ‘General’ will follow in footsteps of one of the most iconic national heroes – Ante Gotovina.
Goran Višnjić, one of the most popular Croatian-American actors, will take on the main role of general Ante Gotovina. Višnjić is known for starring in quite a few blockbuster movies and especially for his appearance in ‘ER’ series. Other character roles befell the popular Croatian actors like Taric Filipović, Nataša Janjić, Rene Bitorajac, Goran Navojec, Borko Perić etc.
Shooting will take place in about 10 different places in Croatia with some minor parts shot abroad. It’s said that the idea about this film emerged while Goran Višnjić and Antun Vrdoljak (director) were visiting Ante Gotovina in Haag while he was imprisoned and being judged after Croatian War of Independence. Besides the film, a mini-series is also planned for production.
