Exhibition of Navigation Systems: ‘In the Right Direction’

Exhibition of Navigation Systems: In the right direction, an exhibition from Nada Dogan & Isabel Jägle was opened at the Museum of Arts and Crafts. It is a portray of works used for signalization and orientation created during the period of renovation of Zagreb’s Pleso airport (2008 – 2011) and the construction of the modern Franjo Tuđman International Airport (2014 – 2017).

The exhibition was opened by Boško Matković (former director of Zagreb airport), who initiated the project In the right direction, and it can be visited until 20th of August.

The design of large signaling systems, like on airports, for example, is a formidable task that requires expertise from multiple fields. The head designer of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Paul Mijksaner said: ‘I am happy if our users find their way without being aware of it.’, meaning it yields almost no public recognition if designed properly.

That visible, obvious part of the project embodied in form of pictograms, text labels, and displays is available for exhibiting.
