Dubrovnik as Canto Bight and More as The Last Jedi Hits the Cinemas

On Thursday, December 14th, the new sequel of the planetary popular space opera Star Wars, which was partially shot in Dubrovnik is hitting the cinemas worldwide!

In the movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the streets of Dubrovnik served as a set for Canto Bight – a coastal city on the desert planet Cantonica, a destination for wealthy individuals filled with casinos and racetracks. Film director Rian Johnson said it is a perfect match for what they needed “a Star Wars Monte Carlo-type environment, a little James Bond-ish, a little To Catch a Thief.”

Little snippets of real world filming locations can be found at http://www.starwars.com/video/worlds-of-the-last-jedi.

The gala premiere of the new Star Wars saga filled up the seats at the CineStar Arena IMAX two days ago by the franchise lovers – Igor Šeregi, Tomo in der Mühlen, Krešimir Macan, Daniel Bilić, Sayon Bangoura, Jasna Nanut, Mirna Medaković, Marko Vrdoljak, Slaven Lunar Kosanović, Danko Družijanić and many others.

With all the buzz going around it’s hard to miss out on any news about Star Wars, so reserve that ticket in time and enjoy the show!
