Croatian Football Team Reaches World Cup Quarterfinals!

Last Sunday Croatian Football Team faced Denmark in the FIFA World Cup and managed to progress despite tough circumstances in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

The beginning of the game was unexpectedly exciting as Denmark player Jorgensen scored in the first minute of the game, while Croatian Mandžukić equalized on four minutes. The rest of the game was much calmer and less eventful so it all came down to penalties. Croatia goalkeeper Subašić saved three penalties and became Croatian hero and only the second goalkeeper to save three penalties in a shootout at the World Cup, while Kramarić, Modrić, and Rakitić managed to score and mark the beginning of Croatia’s celebrations.

During this drama the whole Croatia was going crazy and everybody was on their feet watching the penalties. A lot of people went out to public squares and bars where there are organized screenings of the FIFA World Cup matches. Euphoria after winning over Denmark was unbelievable and the celebration lasted all night.

Croatia will next face the host nation Russia this Saturday, on July 7th in Sochi. Croatia coach Zlatko Dalić said he expects a big game: “We’ve come so far, but we do not intend to stop here. I am sure Russia has the same mentality.”

We believe this is going to be a major challenge for our guys but whatever happens the whole Croatia is extremely proud with what they’ve reached so far. Fans are already ready for Saturday, let’s just hope our team is as well, good luck!
