Best of Motovun Film Festival at Lauba Gallery From Friday

Motovun film festival, most lighthearted and fun loving among the five A list festivals in Croatia, is coming to Zagreb with ten of the best films from this year’s selection. Motovun in Zagreb has become a staple of the festival, returning each year to the capital with great movies, breaking the summer movie drought for the film buffs.

This might sound weird to US and Canada audiences, but summer is the low point of the year for film fans in Zagreb. Almost no one goes to the cinema when they can spend warm nights outside, and it’s mostly Hollywood blockbusters playing anyway.

Motovun holds a special place for film goers in Croatia,  so it’s always a welcoming return in Zagreb. Motovun in Zagreb will start on August 19th and will last until August 28th, showing one film from the selection each evening.

You wont’ find a bad film in this lot and you probably won’t see most of them in your local cinema any time soon, so we highly recommend to catch them if you can.
