10th Zagreb Kom brings the world’s best musicians together for a unique experience

Opening on October 9th, the international festival of chamber music Zagreb Kom brings ten days of musical experiences the likes you have never heard before, and probably never will again. In its tenth edition, the festival continues to bring some of the best musicians in the world together to challenge them and create musical magic.

‘This festival is unique in the way it brings people together. We call the best musicians from different ensembles around the world to play together for the first time. For the duration of the festival they form quartets, quintets and sextets, play a few concerts and disperse back to their ensembles afterwards’ explains Dalio Despot, director of Zagreb Kom, ‘Most of them have played the repertoire before, just not together. We give them three days before the festival to practice with each other and try to make it perfect. The musicians love it, they love the challenge.’

The festival will open with La Fiesta concert featuring works by H. Wolf, M. de Fall, M. Castelnuov-Tedesco, E. Dohnányij and N. Rota. The concert starts at 20h in the acoustically phenomenal baroque halls of the Croatian Institute of Music (Hrvatski Glazbeni Zavod), Gunduliceva street 6A, where all concert will be held for the next ten days.

A number of famous names like Guy Braunstein, Andreas Ottensamer, Susanna Yoko Henkel, Monika Leskovar, Giovanni Sollima will, for the first time, play together compositions from the likes of  Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Wolfang Amadeus Mozart
