Thanks to Croatia’s continuous efforts to position itself on a global touristic scale, the January concluded with a significant increase in arrivals and night stays.

The eVisitor, a tourism system that keeps track of visits and nautical charter marked 217,000 arrivals and 612,000 nights for January 2018. The numbers are a result of strong promotional campaigns before the season with a rich offer of various events that attract the visitors.

“The Croatian Tourist Board is constantly conducting marketing campaigns aimed at positioning Croatia as a year-round destination. A successful winter brand campaign has been implemented, and soon on the markets around the world we are launching a promotional campaign for the pre-season that will be active by the end of March. The positive effect on tourist traffic in January had events such as the Snow Queen in Sljeme or the European Handball Championship held in four Croatian cities, “said Staničić, announcing the upcoming Croatian Tourist Board program for event support.

Most nights were recorded in Zagreb which indicates how sports events and different manifestations have a significant impact on the development of tourism.
