Backed by the Croatian Institute of Employment and the City of Zagreb, a very special coffee place, Silent caffe opened its doors.
First of its kind in all of Croatia, Silent caffe is a place that will make you come back not because of the coffee but for the atmosphere. The special thing about Silent caffe is that it employs staff with impaired hearing. You can take your order either with silent language or by using a tablet. TV screens in the place regularly show how to order different drinks in sign language though, and regular visitors get to learn some basic sign language as well.
The whole project is great more so because roughly one in fifty registered workers has some kind of disability and they have trouble finding their place of employment. All in all Silent caffe is a great place to make your next coffee session somewhat unique 🙂
