Lado Ensemble is starting their series of Christmas concerts in different Croatian cities tonight. This year’s traditional Christmas tour begins on the 15th of December with a charity Christmas concert at the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Siget, Zagreb. The tour will end in Varazdin on December 22nd. Funds raised on this show will be donated to the project ‘No Limit – Daj 5 za bolji svijet’ and to children with disabilities.
Lado has prepared a one-hour selection of some of the most famous traditional songs from their Christmas program. They will perform Christmas carols covers by Drazen Kurilovčan, Joško Ćaleta and Tomislav Uhlik. The audience will be able to hear songs “Tri kralja jahahu” and “Koleda” in arrangement by Tomislav Uhlik.
It is interesting to add that Verica Radić, Lado’s dance leader, and soloist Hrvoje Radić will celebrate a 35th anniversary of their artistic work in the ensemble by the end of this tour, making this a double celebration for Lado. 20th of Decembre, 7 pm – Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Marija Bistrica.
21st of Decembre, 7:45 pm – Church of St. Anthony of Padua, Sveti Duh, Zagreb;
22nd of December at 8 pm – Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Varaždin.
