When it comes to culture, summers in Zagreb don’t officially start until Grič Evenings start. The event is one of the oldest summer music marathons in Croatia with more than 30 concert in the period between June 28th and July 24th. Grič Evenings bring a special atmosphere to the Old Town with a variety of concerts taking place at the Gradec plateau overlooking downtown Zagreb, the magical atrium of Klovićevi Dvori gallery that used to be an inner courtyard of a Jesuit monastery from the 17th century and inside the baroque Saint Cathrine’s church (crkva Sv. Katarine).

The concerts will take place every evening starting from 9pm at one of the three locations and are divided into classical concerts and folklore ensemble performances with a bit of contemporary artists like Rundek Cargo Trio (pop/world music), Meritas (electro-folk)  and Mario Tolja (50ies lounge) added to the mix on certain dates.

Više od kulture

More Than Culture exhibition of posters and designs

Tickets will be sold for the concerts (prices vary depending on the act), but people who buy them will get a free entrance to the exhibitions hosted by Klovićevi Dvori gallery. Those include the 6th Biennial of Croatian Illustration, Klovićevi Dvori closed collection of works given to the gallery by artists, donors and collectors, and More Then Culture (Više od Kulture) exhibition of posters and designs created in the past 50 years for Zagreb Concert Management (Koncertna Direkcija Zagreb), municipal institution for performances in Zagreb (and the organizers of this event).

The exhibitions open on Tuesday June 28th at 7pm, followed by a concert from Zagreb Soloists and Ivan Krpan on piano at 9pm that will officially open the 35th Grič Evenings.
